Tortuga Island is generally a very safe place to be. Like any tropical destination, it’s essential to be aware of the sun. Make sure that you bring reef-safe sunblock to avoid burning. Also, for your safety and the safety of the local wildlife, make sure you keep your distance. The monkeys may be cute and curious, but you don’t want them to walk off with your belongings!
